the start

How this journey began...

    Oliver and I first met at a local brewery through a dating app. Talking to each other and asking each other many questions, we soon realized we had very similar views in life and had a passion for traveling so we took our first trip as a couple to Colorado, USA and we hit it off instantly. We loved (and still love) being in a new place and new environments, we love having constant change...  so here we are fast forward to 10 months later with long-distance and a short engagement period, we are now vowing our lives to each other in Colorado surrounded by the mountains. What a dream!!!

Oliver and I have talked about doing this blog and Instagram because we were planning to go on a backpacking trip in September for... well who knows how long it will be... I guess right now it is all depended on the pandemic... We wanted to have a platform to tell our stories and have a place where we can share our photos of the people we meet and the many places we go to. 

The name plane and light became because well... it was simply that I have a paper plane tattoo as well as a lightbulb tattoo on me. These tattoos do have a meaning to them as the paper plane is for my love of travels and all the travels I have done by myself throughout my years and the lightbulb is for being light in the darkness in this world for the glory of God until Jesus comes back and it is a constant reminder for me of my purpose on this earth. 

I honestly wanted to start my own podcast that was called the 'light and plane' 2 years ago and that didn't happen. Last year, we were sitting at a coffee shop in Charlotte, North Carolina talking about potential blog names and I randomly threw out 'the light and plane' to Oliver and he instantly loved it and wanted to use this as our future blog name. so a little tweaking and 'The Plane and Light' is what we decided on! 

Our hope is to make many memories small and big to share and show the world that people may not know about.
