Boothbay, Maine
Today we spent the day in Boothbay, Maine, around 40 miles from where we live. Boothbay is a small town of around 3,000 people. It is mainly a seasonal tourist area and significant part of the population do not live here year-round.
After our errands, we decided to go eat at a gourmet meat and fish market, Pinkhams Gourmet Market! This market sells everything such as, local beer and wines, fresh seafood, meats, made to order sandwiches and subs, and fresh live lobster. We ordered a lobster BLT and a lobster roll, with a locally brewed kombucha (from Urban Farm) and chocolate chip cookie. It was great! We definitely will come back here if we get the chance.
The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is currently doing a exhibition this summer of the 'Guardians of the Seeds' by Thomas Dambo. This exhibition has giant trolls throughout the gardens to see. They ranged anywhere from 40-50 feet tall! Click here to see the information for the botanical gardens and the exhibit for the giant trolls 🌼! The garden is not that big, so it didn't take that long to walk around. Perfect for families to take their children for the day!

Since we had a few hours spare before we to picked up dinner, we decided to try out a one of the local breweries, Boothbay Craft Brewery. It is about a 7 minute drive from the botanical gardens. They had a wonderful selection of light and dark beers. They are most known for their IPA called the thirsty botanist, but we were drawn to a NITRO (our favorite!) vanilla porter called the southporter. The brewery had chickens roaming and plenty of outdoor space and games to enjoy. Just a great ending to our day. Click here to see information of Boothbay Craft Brewery 🍻!

We had been to Boothbay once before during the winter. It was so gloomy and everything was closed for the season. This time around, the weather was beautiful and more things were open to enjoy. Definitely recommend if your going up the coast in Maine on a beautiful, sunny day! 🌞
