5 MUST VISIT cafes around Hendersonville/Asheville, North Carolina!

It has been about three months since we moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina. It definitely feels more and more like home. It will be a sad day come mid November when we pack up and leave here!

Today’s post is going to be all about coffee! Recently, Oliver has turned me on to coffee. I was not a huge coffee drinker before… Until we took a tasting class during our trip to Nova Scotia. Ever since then, I have really enjoyed trying different blends of coffee and trying out specialty coffee drinks that you normally would not think of.

So we made a short coffee shop recommendation list in the Hendersonville/Asheville area. Each and every cafe Oliver and I have reviewed is unique in its own way.

Black Bear Coffee Co. -located on Main Street, is a cafe that is hard to miss! It is open 7 days a week and on most weekends the lines are long. Black bear Coffee sources all its coffee beans from all over the world and is roasted by Counter Culture Coffee. This cozy coffee shop has been open since 1993 and has grown to even have a trailer and van that serves coffee on the go and at various events! There is no parking at the cafe, but there is plenty of paid parking around downtown Hendersonville. Click the link for their website! Black Bear Coffee Co

They serve a variety of specialty drinks, snacks, and lunches. We enjoyed the standard drip coffee way more than any of the lattes (They seemed to be a bit inconsistent).

If you are in town, it is a great spot for chill breakfast!

Appalachian Coffee Company -A mile away from downtown Hendersonville is a cozy cafe perfect to sit down and read a book or get some work done. When you walk in, you are able to see a wide open area of workspaces and a nice area that sells merchandise and other local goods (even fresh flowers)! Behind the cafe, you have more room to sit on their back porch. They serve various kinds of breakfast goods until 11:30 am and then delicious sandwiches starting at 11:30 am. They also serve wine and beer. It is located at 5th Ave W, Laurel Park, NC with a big parking area. Click the link for their website! Appalachian Coffee Company

Pisgah Coffee Roasters - Located at Pisgah Forest, NC is this family-owned coffee roasting company. The owner of this company, Jothan, has opened this roastery in 2010. Pisgah Coffee Roasters primarily sources beans from the Cerrado region of Brazil. They are open from Monday - Saturday and also offers drive thru! They are known for their specialty craft drinks. One of my favorites is the Flyin’ Squirrel (espresso with almond chocolate milk). Click the link for their website! Pisgah Coffee Roasters

ShareWell Coffee Co. - located in Flat Rock on Greenville Highway, you’ll find this small roastery and espresso bar. Open Monday - Thursday, you will be welcomed to the fresh smell of coffee being roasted and their super nice staff. They don’t have any large breakfast options, but they do serve pastries. One of our favorite spots to go before a bike ride in Dupont, or church on Sunday! Here’s the link for their website! ShareWell Coffee Co.

Rowan Coffee - Our absolute favorite coffee shop in this area is in Asheville. located right next to a public parking area on Broadway St. This small cafe opened in September of 2021 and is mostly known for its specially made coffee mocktails. Rowan Coffee puts a huge emphasis on a small, simple coffee menu and really perfects each and every coffee on the menu. On the weekends they offer sweet and savory waffles. Be on the lookout for some limited-edition drinks! The coffee is absolutely exceptional and if we lived closer, we would be here daily. Click the link for their website! Rowan Coffee
