Want to save money and gain new experiences?
In this post, I wanted to talk about the last three weeks of our backpacking trip in Europe and answer questions for a lot of people who were asking about this volunteer program.
Dublin, Ireland
The capital of Ireland and the largest city of Ireland as well! A three-hour flight from Edinburgh, and we landed in Dublin. The city of Dublin consists of 2 million people! Dublin is a contemporary and historical center for Irish education, arts and culture, administration, and industry.
Edinburgh, Scotland
Onto our next destination on our backpacking trip! We are in Edinburgh! It is a hilly city and the capital of Scotland! We took a flight from London and it was only about an hour's flight time to Edinburgh! This was a last-minute trip so we didn’t really research much about Edinburgh.
Oliver really wanted to go to Edinburgh while we were still here so we made it a quick pit stop before heading to Dublin.
London, England
London is the capital and the largest city of England and the United Kingdom. It is one of the most visited city in Europe. It is one of the most diverse cities in the world, with an outstanding culture. It is pretty impossible to get bored here in London, there is something for everyone!
Our travels through big and small parts of Italy!
For two weeks, we have gone through the big and small towns of Italy. This was Oliver’s and I’s first time in Italy. For this post, we wanted to share our journey through Italy from the northwest to the southwest towns/cities.
The country of Austria!
Austria is quite the country! It was both Oliver’s and I’s first time in this country so we were pretty excited. Austria is located right in the Eastern Alps so we also had the opportunity to go to Innsbruck, Austria to get to see the Austrian Alps as well! I wrote out some things I really enjoyed doing in Austria and hopefully you will too!
Prague, Czech Republic
Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic is our next stop! Prague is bisected by the Vltava River, and nicknamed “the City of a Hundred Spires,” it's known for its history, architecture, Gothic churches.
Berlin, Germany
Our journey through Berlin was super exciting. We stayed in East Germany and explored West Germany in the coming days. The two ends were surprisingly contrasting in many different aspects. We also enjoyed German food..
Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen was all about the HYGGE. The atmosphere and the people of Denmark was everything you expect it to be… cozy and warm. We enjoyed our short stay in Copenhagen. From staying in a super modern hostel to going to a food hall to try good food.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The city of Amsterdam is a rising city among many, from college students to digital nomads. We listed some highs, lows, places to see/visit, and thoughts on the red light district here in the bustling city of Amsterdam.
Porto, Portugal
Porto… what a gem. The food is absolutely to die for, and the people here are so kind. We stayed in a hostel right in the city center and were able to explore lots of this city in a short amount of time. From best places to eat, things to eat, and places to see and visit… we have it all.
Sintra, Portugal
A 30-minute train ride from Lisbon and we have arrived in Sintra, Portugal. We stayed in Sintra for a day (a stop on our way to Porto). We have listed where we stayed, a nice cafe to stop by, and some sights to see.
Lisbon, Portugal
One of the most hidden gems, but also a rising star, is Portugal. Our first stop is in Lisbon - a place with a beautiful mix of art and culture. We laid out the top highs and lows of Lisbon, places to eat, places to see, and some good recommendations along the way.
